I am excited to announce that I have partnered with Perdix Materials to provide some of the finest natural fly-tying materials available. I have personally been tying with these materials over the past year and they are some of the highest quality I have found. It is clear when handling these products that great care was taken in their processing.
Both male and female quail skins are available, female skins have a slightly more brown color and have more of the scaled feathers on the breast while male skins are more blue/gray. Quail skins have great feathers for tying soft hackles and nymphs, one of my favorites for Blue-Winged Olive soft hackles. These skins will tie many flies in sizes 12-20.
The photos are representative and do not necessarily reflect the actual skin you will receive. Quail skins have very little variation from bird to bird, trust that every skin will be very high quality with all feathers intact.
